The Word of today (Lk 17:11-19) speaks of the ten lepers healed by the Lord. Unfortunately, only one of them came back to show gratitude. His thankfulness made Jesus say, "Stand up and go; your faith has saved you." A thankful heart has the power to heal spiritually. It made the Samaritan believe God can bring good out of evil and life out of death. This story truly conveys the meaning of Thanksgiving. Therefore, even in the most challenging moments, there is always hope of salvation.
It has been a year full of blessings for me at St. Vincent de Paul, and this Thanksgiving, I am grateful to God for every one of YOU. It has been a blessing to serve you as a pastor. May God grant you a grateful heart and help you see all the gifts He has bestowed on us. May the Grace and Peace from God and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you always!
