On Thursday afternoon, February 5, upon concluding the 12:10PM Daily Mass, there will be an hour of Eucharistic Adoration in the Church from 12:30-1:30PM.
The purpose of this hour of Adoration is to honor Jesus who is really present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. During the hour of adoration, I will also be available to hear anyone's confession.
The next day, Friday, February 6, is the First Friday of the month. There is a centuries-old custom in the church to receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays of nine consecutive months as a way to show our love for Jesus and His Most Sacred Heart. Such repeated reception of Holy Communion increase our devotion to the one who loves us so dearly that he remains with us always in the Sacrament of the Altar.
It would be a great act of negligence and ingratitude to fail to honor Jesus' presence in the Most Holy Eucharist. By
consistenly
, monthly, adoring Him and worthily receiving Him we can make up for our own past sins of omission as well as work to repair the harm done by the carelessness and dishonor - deliberate or unintentional - of others.
May this monthly devotion be a source of grace, strength, and spiritual growth for our parish.
Sincerely yours,
Fr. Drew
You’re invited to spend time with Jesus’ Real Eucharistic Presence during a Holy Hour on February 5, from 12:30-1:30pm. Stop by for a few minutes or spend the entire hour with the Blessed Sacrament.
Why make a Holy Hour? We spend time with those persons who are important to us. A time in prayerful adoration is time with Jesus in the Eucharist. Begin a practice that can nourish you spiritually throughout the Year.
