“Daytime Doctrine with Fr. Drew” is an Advent Scripture Study here at St. Vincent de Paul parish. It’s based on the success of the recent Scripture Studies at St. Benedict the Moor and it will be a great way for us to get the most out of this Holy Time of Year.
Our Daytime Doctrine classes will review the selections from the biblical readings at Mass as well as explain the foundational teachings of the Catholic Faith. The classes are open to anyone but will be particularly beneficial for Catholics who wish to grow in their understanding of Scripture and the faith during these holy days.
Advent is a Holy Time of year. We’re right to think of it as a time to get ready for Christmas. But getting ready for Christmas is only part of it. More than anything, during these days we sharpen our sense that Jesus is coming. He came once 2000 years ago in a manger in Bethlehem. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. Will we be ready for his second coming?
I invite everyone to join us for our Daytime Doctrine classes. We will meet in the Annex Classrooms at St. Vincent de Paul, adjacent to the rectory immediately following the daily Mass from 12:45PM—1:45 PM, Tuesdays Dec. 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd. Join us!
