The Washington Capitals hockey team will be playing The Winter Classic at Nationals Park on New Year’s Day – the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.
St. Vincent de Paul will have a #CapsMass for this important feast day at 11:30am before the 1pm faceoff.
We welcome everyone to come and and pray and participate in Mass on this great day of celebration!
After Mass, those interested are welcome to enjoy hot chocolate and join in caroling outside of the Navy Yard Metro (half-a-block from St. Vincent de Paul).

Frequently Asked Questions about Caroling after Mass:
Q:
I’d like to join, but I am not sure if I want to sing. Can I still attend? A: Yes! Firstly, you do not need to be a ‘good singer’ – any skill is most appreciated. You can choose not to sing and can welcome game-goers while supporting your fellow parishioners and friends.
Q:
Will songbooks be provided? A: Yes! Easy Christmas Carols and “songs you know by heart” will be sung.
Q:
Do I need to RSVP? A: No; but it would help us if you did. We’d like to get a rough headcount to let the Knights know how much hot chocolate to buy and prepare. Please RSVP on our Facebook page, if you’re planning on attending.
